Nestled in the heart of historic Fredericksburg, the properties of Washington Heritage Museums provide a beautiful city oasis for your outdoor or small indoor event.

 

With four to choose from, one is certain to be just the right setting for your event. Each location can accommodate up to 50 guests, but offers smaller areas for more intimate gatherings. Abbreviated tours of the museum are included at no additional charge.

For events held at the Mary Washington House, you may wish for us to have the Museum Shop open for your guests. Please let us know, and we’ll make every effort to have it available.

Mary Washington House 

pre-1772 

1200 Charles Street 

Mary Ball Washington spent the last seventeen years of her life in this comfortable home, bought for her by her son, George Washington.

Rising Sun Tavern 

c. 1760 

1304 Caroline Street 

Built by Charles Washington around 1760 as his home, this building was later operated as a tavern in the bustling port town of Fredericksburg.

Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop 

c. 1772 

1020 Caroline Street 

An 18th century building restored as the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop provides a vivid living history interpretation of colonial medical practices.

St. James’ House 

c. 1772 

1300 Charles Street 

This small, gambrel-roofed house is a fine example of an 18th century gentleman’s house. It contains a collection of period furnishings includ-ing silver, glass, and porcelain.
