Washington Heritage Museums is Planning for Our Future
May 5, 2020
Having to temporarily close our four historic sites and cancel or postpone all in-person programs has severely impacted Washington Heritage Museums’ operational budget. Our staff continues to preserve and protect our museums and collections while engaging visitors virtually and working to update and improve our tours. To continue our mission to maintain our historic properties and educate the public about the importance of history, we need your help.
We can’t do this alone. Washington Heritage Museums does not receive state or federal funding and has suffered a significant loss of income due to the closure of our properties during what is normally our busiest season. The effect of closure may total over $80,000 in lost income through the end of June. Our fundraising activities have been dramatically curtailed as well. We need your help now more than ever! If you love Virginia history and want to see it preserved for future generations, please make a gift today. It’s absolutely critical to our ongoing mission.
This #GivingTuesdayNow, please donate and consider becoming a monthly donor. It’s quite simple to set up recurring monthly payments which really add up over time, creating a long lasting impact.
These times are unprecedented. We hope you will help us withstand these challenges as we look forward to the time when we can all gather together again!
