On October 30, Washington Heritage Museums hosted a night of fun, entertainment and education. A Toast to Bourbon and Boxwood, was a virtual salute to our annual fundraising event. The event was held over Zoom to ensure the safety of all participants. Through sponsorship, ticket sales, and an online silent auction, over $80,000 was raised for the museums. As our museums recently reopened after six months of closure, there’s never been a more important time for this outpouring of support.
All funds raised will be used to support the ongoing mission of the Washington Heritage Museums and will assist WHM in this challenging time.
The video features Brian Prewitt, Master Distiller at A. Smith Bowman, talking about the history of bourbon, followed by Zachary Hatcher, owner of White Plains Farm, discussing the history of preserving fruits, and concludes with Joy Crump, Executive Chef at Foode, preparing hors d’oeuvre and drink recipes. Rounding the event out was the musical entertainment of Whiskey Django Foxtrot. Those who make a donation will receive the recipe cards featured in the demonstrations.
